Travel to Plymouth

There are many ways to travel to Plymouth…

By Air

You can fly with a large number of airlines to nearby Exeter and Bristol airports. (There are also excellent fast connections from London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Stanstead airports.) These include Ryan Air, Easyjet, Flybe and British Airways.

By Train

Express direct from London Paddington to Plymouth or from Heathrow and Gatwick via Reading to Plymouth, (approximately 3 hours travel time). For timetables and booking see National Rail Enquiries, direct from Bristol (approximately 2 hours) & Exeter (approximately 1 hour travel time).

By Coach

Direct from Heathrow Airport to Plymouth Coach Station, which is served by National Express. We shall be pleased to reserve coach tickets for you on request. Direct from Bristol to Plymouth by Megabus, (approximately 4.5 hours travel time).

Stagecoach, have a coach service for the South West to cover the route between Bristol, Bristol Airport, Taunton, Exeter and Plymouth. There are 19 journeys a day, 7 days a week and fares start from as little as £1 (+50p booking fee). This is great news for students who want to visit other towns and cities in the South West during their stay, but especially for those arriving and departing from Bristol Airport. This service makes travel from Bristol to Plymouth really easy and inexpensive.

All students are met on arrival in Plymouth. Escort or meeting services can also be arranged from Heathrow/Gatwick.

By Ferry

Direct ferry link between Roscoff (France) and Plymouth and between Santander (Spain) and Plymouth via Brittany Ferries.

Roscoff to Plymouth – For those students who are 15 years and below and are travelling unaccompanied we offer an escort service between Roscoff and Plymouth for dates in June, July and August.
