Visas and ETAs
We can accept enrolments from students with the following:
- ETA
- Short-term Study Visa
- Standard Visitor visa
- Students travelling as part of a French school group
ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation)
Students from EU countries, Switzerland and a number of countries can apply for an ETA and DO NOT need a visa. Check the government website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-when-you-can-get-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta
Cost £16 Valid for 2 years
To apply, download the UK ETA app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- You will need your passport, email address and to supply some basic information.
- Application can take 3 working days, so make sure to apply in good time.
Standard Visitor Visa
To enrol on a course for up to 6 months, apply for a Standard Visitor Visa. The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel. Usually granted within 3 weeks.

Short-term Study Visa
To enrol on a course for longer than 6 months, but no more than 11 months, apply for the Short-term Study Visa unless from the EU or Switzerland.
Cost: £214
The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel. Usually granted within 3 weeks.

Students travelling as part of a French school group
Students travelling in a French secondary school party are exempted* from the above and can be named on a form to be completed and submitted by the French institution where they are enrolled.
*Members of the group who do not hold a French passport will also usually need a visa.

We are currently unable to issue students with a CAS for a Student Visa, which is intended for FE and HE students.
